TAM: When did you started your museum?
H: I opened in August 1999, but I was collecting since quite long ago. Almost all my life.
TAM: When did you start tattooing?
H: More than thirty years ago. I was 25 and I started as an apprentice of master Horiyoshi I.

TAM: Do you think it is possible for you to come to Spain? H: Two or three years ago I was supposed to go to Barcelone. However, a friend of mine who is a clairvoyant recommended me not to go, because if I did my family was going to be in trouble. I took notice of him, because he never fails his predictions.

H: No. Only Japanese traditional designs. If somebody wants a small
design or an “American way” one my apprentices are in charge of

Horiyoshi is working, but with the usual Japanese kindness he rises up and gets closer to greet us. As usual, we bring him a present, some self made tattooing machines. The gift is to make our humble contribution to his museum, and he gets really happy.
