Hence, I grabbed my brother Chris, put a needle and cork in his hand and shouted at him (as my photo tattoo will tell you, I do a lot of that) to stick it through my ear. Fifteen seconds later, a gleaming stud winked from my lobe. It wasn’t long before I’d graduated to long dangly (stop sniggering) things  basically the wilder the better.

Roff has plans to do some more work abroad and designer, but fortunately for us, he is not thinking about moving away from Europe completely. The country would be a duller place without him and his art.

It’s about time tattooists’ work receives the credit it deserves and what better than to be hung in a gallery as artwork in it’s own right. What interested Dale was seeing a lot of work done by one individual artist, and seeing that individual style assert itself on the living canvas.

Interestingly, the photographs in the exhibition were in monochrome (black & white), and not  in colour, as maybe you’d expect. Dale believes that black & white has an edge and power that is not possible with colour.

Next up were the men (well what else is there ?). One by one they came under the lights and the judges’ scrutiny. Paul Teag had a menacing sea serpent on his thigh, which was done at the show by ‘the Wanderer’. Paul Peachy of Skin Graphics entered himself, as he is going for a complete body suit.

She also had some sort of flower arrangement on her bottom, which was impossible to get a good photograph of as she was shaking so badly !! (much to everyone’s amusement 1 might add).
